Porcelain Veneers, Bonding and Bleaching
One of the most common complaints that we hear in our office is that of a smile which is not as beautiful as our patients would like them to be. Either the teeth are badly stained, or there are spaces or gaps between teeth, or the teeth are an unattractive shape. These difficulties can be easily solved with today’s modern dental techniques.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom fit layers of porcelain that fit over an individual’s existing teeth. They are made in a cosmetic dental laboratory, by technicians who are expert in the filed of cosmetic dental procedures. When they are returned to the office, they are cemented in place using a very strong yet invisible adhesive. Once placed they are impossible to distinguish from natural teeth. Except, of course, they look fantastic! Problems such as dark teeth, gapping or spacing between teeth, and misshapen or misaligned teeth can be easily corrected. The result is a beautiful, natural and healthy looking smile!

Bonding

Before

Bonding is the process of correcting cosmetic defects by adhering tooth colored materials to the front surface of the teeth. It can be used to correct a variety of cosmetic difficulties, from small gaps or spaces, to unsightly shades. It has the advantage of being done in one visit in the dental office, with no second visit to complete laboratory work. It, as a result, is somewhat less expensive than porcelain veneers. On the other hand, the material, while very esthetic, is not quite as beautiful as laboratory manufactured porcelain.
Bleaching

Bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is an exciting method of correcting dark or stained teeth. Done in one visit of one hour, the results can be amazing! Typically, the teeth are lightened six to nine shades lighter, although shade changes as great as thirteen shades has been achieved. Afterwards, custom fit trays and a maintainence gel are given to the patient in order to maintain the new white, bright smile.
